No sooner said than done
I got a '5 minutes to Vain interview' call from
Norma, their (really nice) tour manager, around
9:30, but we needed to find Shmian, to sort out
which room it was taken place in upstairs. I
knew the little minx was darting back and fore
the pub next door all night to watch the match -
and the score was killing me - so off I went.
I didn't find him, but I did find a pub full of
people glued to the screens, a 3-3 with 10 minutes
to go result, and everyone declaring it 'the best
match of their lives,' etc.
Do I stay, or do I go, go back and interview
Vain?
I fucking stayed, didn't I! Well, for one speedy
pint until normal time ended. And then I thought,
if I don't leave now, I never will. So essentially
speaking, I missed the lot. The interview was
worth it though.

I don't know how it was broadcast where you all were, but here in the US, they had a poll question that asked "Can Liverpool come back in the second half, yes or no?" I looked at my wife, and this was 8 minutes into the second half, and said "yeah right, like that ever happens in soccer." LOL! They scored their first goal about a minute later, and the comeback was on.
